Tiger Found Dead in South Kheri Forest Division Raises Concerns

In a distressing discovery on Monday, a tiger carcass was found in Barauchha Nullah within the Gola range forests of the south Kheri forest division. The tiger, identified as a fully adult male aged between seven to eight years, exhibited no apparent injuries or loss of limbs, according to Sanjay Biswal, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) for the south Kheri forest division.

DFO Sanjay Biswal promptly rushed to the site following the recovery of the tiger carcass on Monday evening. Preliminary examinations ruled out any foul play in the tiger’s demise, as no visible injuries were detected on the body.

To determine the exact cause of death, an autopsy of the tiger is scheduled for Tuesday, adhering to the guidelines set by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). A panel of veterinary doctors, in the presence of designated officials, will conduct the autopsy to unravel the circumstances leading to the tiger’s demise.

According to Biswal, field officials patrolling the Sikandarpur beat forests in the Gola range spotted the tiger’s body in Barauchha Nullah on Monday evening. Initial investigations revealed the tiger to be a fully grown adult male with no observable injuries. All vital organs, including nails, jaws, and canines, were found intact.

The exact cause of the tiger’s death will be established after the post-mortem examination, providing crucial insights into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident. Conservation authorities and wildlife officials are closely monitoring the situation, emphasizing the importance of understanding and addressing factors that may impact the tiger population in the region.
